On Friday, January 26, 2018 hundreds of students, faculty, staff, and community members gathered at MSU in solidarity with survivors and to call for change. Nearly 500 stamped and addressed postcards to enablers of sexual assault and abuse were handed out at the event. The photos here represent a handful of those postcards that were left on the table to be mailed by the postcard organizers. They speak to the anger, frustration, and sadness that many are experiencing because of the actions by MSU leaders and other enablers of sexual assault. They also reflect the sentiment that change is possible.
If you would like your postcard to be included in this collection, please snap a photo of it and send it to [email protected]. If you do not have one of these postcards but are writing a message to an enabler in a different format and would like to see it included, you may send us a photo of that as well. Identifying information has been left off of these postcards. If you would like your name attached, let us know. Threats of violence as well as homophibic, sexist, and racist messages will not be added to this collection.
Thank you to the Women's March Michigan for the design of this postcard.
We will be continuing our postcard work to combat the culture of sexual assault and abuse. Additional postcards planned include postcards to thank survivors for their bravery and strength. To support this work, please donate here:
